DIVERSION PROGRAMS

Children in Need of Services/Families in Need of Services is a Family Diversion Program funded by the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice to support children and families in an effort to divert youth from penetrating the juvenile justice system, while helping families to navigate through difficult times in their lives. The program is designed to strengthen families, equipping them with a better understanding of how to cope with life challenges. Youth participating in this program must be ten to seventeen years old. Mount Bethel Human Services program workers will advocate for family rights and work as a liaison within the family and with outside entities as required. A program specific referral form is available for this program upon request

INTERVENTION PROGRAMS

Family Reunification Services is a program designed to reunite families. The Mt. Bethel Human Services workers provide in-home services structured to safely reunite families that have had children removed from the home as a result of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. This program utilizes new and creative approaches to strengthening families whose children have been removed, to ensure that the reunification process happens at a more rapid pace, and to ensure the safety, stability, and permanence of the reunification. The ultimate goal of the program is for clients to become self-sufficient, by helping the clients become economically independent, and achieve stable and healthy homes, while completing their mandated court ordered tasks. 

Foster Home Management is a program designed to provide children who have been removed from their homes as a result of abuse, neglect or abandonment with a stable nurturing environment where they can develop to their fullest potential. Mount Bethel Human Services believe that if children have to be removed from their homes, they could best benefit from some stability through familiarity. Therefore, Foster Home Management is the next line in our continuum of care in order to ensure safety, permanency and the well being of children.     

PREVENTION PROGRAMS 

Family Resource Center (FRC) is designed to provide neighborhood –based support services that include but are not limited to, Food Pantry on Thursdays only, Child Care assistance available to qualified families living within a specified boundary in the City of Fort Lauderdale, and referral assistance for various services.

New Vision Community Development Corporation is a HUD certified housing counseling agency that provides counseling services to first-time homebuyers; assessing the clients credit, income, budget, and money management. New Vision Community Development Corporation welcomes outside referrals.
